World Youth Week
A Day in the Diocese (Page 1 )
Actually part of a big day
For our young Polish guests including 3 priests, Tuesday 8th July began with concelebrated Mass in St. Anthony's church with our Parish Priest Fr. Phillip.
Mass was followed by sumptuous barbecue breakfast prepared by parishioners.
The pilgrims then travelled to The Monastery, some in a small bus and some with volunteer drivers. First they followed The Stations of the Cross in The Sacred Garden beautifully maintained by The Passionists. A Gospel reflection took place in the warm and spacious Foley Room, then morning tea/coffee scones and jam provided by The Monastery. Other activities were pursued until a further journey to Warriparinga Wetlands and Living Kaurna Cultural Centre. 'Warriparinga', in the Kaurna language means 'a windy place by the river'. The visitors were treated to a feast of information of Aboriginal culture, dance and music by excellent tour guide Stephen (his European name). Language proved no barrier. Stephen speaks excellent English and explained much about his native tongue was ably assisted with translation into Polish.
